Remote work is not merely a laptop in another country. The legal and administrative route can change depending on whether you are an employee, freelancer, company owner, posted worker or jobseeker. Employer location, client location, residence and where the work is physically performed may all matter.
Describe the arrangement in writing
Record who pays you, where the employer or clients are established, expected days in Spain, travel pattern, decision-making responsibilities and benefits. Ask the employer for explicit approval rather than assuming a remote-work policy covers cross-border residence.
Review connected systems
Tax residence, payroll withholding, social security, immigration permission, insurance and permanent-establishment risk are related but not identical. A solution in one area does not automatically solve the others. Obtain advice before changing contracts or invoicing structures.
Build the move around the answer
Once the working model is confirmed, banking, healthcare and residence appointments become easier to sequence. Corablanca can coordinate the practical move, but qualified employment, tax and social-security professionals must assess the individual arrangement.
